Reality Roofing offers clay and concrete tile installation, repair, and replacement, with guidance on tile selection, underlayment needs, and the work required beneath the surface.

Clay tile offers a traditional appearance with a range of profiles and finishes. We help you evaluate compatible options for your installation or replacement project.
Ideal For:
Homeowners seeking a traditional tile appearance
Projects using compatible clay tile products
Matching or replacing existing clay tile
Concrete tile is available in different shapes, colors, and profiles. We help you compare options and understand the components included in the proposed roofing system.
Ideal For:
Existing concrete-tile roofs
Homeowners comparing tile styles
Compatible new construction and replacement projects

Broken or displaced tiles may be only part of the problem. We inspect the affected area and surrounding components to determine whether a targeted repair can address the issue for you directly.

When deterioration extends beyond a repairable area, a larger reroofing project may be appropriate. We explain which components need replacement and whether suitable existing tiles can be retained.

The material beneath the tiles is very important in managing water. If it's deteriorated, underlayment replacement may be needed even when many of the tiles remain usable.

Planning a new home, addition, or roofing change? We help you evaluate tile options and the installation requirements for your home or building's ideal design. Ideal for new construction or upgrades.
Damage is limited to a defined area
Surrounding roofing components remain serviceable
A specific repair can address the source of the problem
Assessment identifies deteriorated underlayment
The scope requires lifting tiles to address underlying materials
Suitable existing tiles may be reused
Deterioration affects multiple components or roof areas
Existing tiles are unsuitable for reuse
Previous repairs are no longer a practical solution

Tiffani helps coordinate your inquiry and arrange a convenient time to discuss your roofing needs. Let us know about leaks, damaged tiles, or any previous work.

Dave assesses the roof and explains the proposed options. You receive a clear discussion of whether the project involves repair, underlayment work, or replacement.

Once you approve the work, our team coordinates scheduling and production. Elijah works with Dave and Tiffani to keep communication moving throughout the project.
Owner Dave Porter began his roofing career as an installer in 1995 and brings more than two decades of hands-on industry experience. When you request an estimate, you speak with someone who understands roofing from the installation side not just the sales process.
Reality Roofing combines that background with clear recommendations, transparent conversations about scope, and direct communication throughout your project.
Our team works with established roofing products and systems to support each project’s requirements. This helps us helping us provide solutions tailored to your roof, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Often, yes. Individual tiles and localized problem areas may be repairable, but the surrounding underlayment and decking should be evaluated before deciding the scope. Replacing visible tiles alone may not address damage beneath them.
The issue may involve underlayment, flashing, or other roofing details rather than an obviously broken tile. An assessment is needed to identify the affected components and establish an appropriate repair.
Some existing tiles may be suitable for reuse, depending on their condition and the project requirements. New or reused tiles will not be installed over compromised underlayment.
It involves removing the tiles as required to access and replace the underlayment beneath them, then reinstalling suitable tiles or installing replacements within the agreed scope. Flashing and other affected components should also be addressed as specified in the proposal.
In general, a clay tile roof can last 50 to 100 years while concrete tiles can last for 50 to 75 years. However, it's important to note that the tiles and underlying components do not necessarily have the same service life. Tile can remain usable while underlayment or flashing requires attention, so roof condition and maintenance history matter more than a single lifespan figure.

At Reality Roofing, every project is backed by decades of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to build in Arizona’s climate. Founded by licensed contractor David Porter, the company was born from a passion for quality craftsmanship and a commitment to helping Tucson homeowners protect what matters most.

David is the owner and hands-on leader of Reality Roofing. He brings over two decades of deep industry experience, having begun his career in roofing in 1995 as an installer. From 1995 to 2012, David personally installed a wide range of roofing systems—including custom and complex builds—giving him a level of firsthand expertise that few owners or sales professionals can match.
Raised as the son of a builder, David learned early the value of hard work and the importance of building quality homes. His background isn’t limited to construction—he also spent time serving as a pastor and missionary, overseeing community development projects on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
In 2017, David and his family relocated to Tucson, where he and his son Elijah spent several years managing a roofing department for a larger company. Their work extended beyond roofing to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting—experience that helped round out David’s construction expertise. Now, with the support of his wife Tiffani and their family, he’s proud to bring a fresh perspective to Tucson homeowners through Reality Roofing.
David holds a KB-1 General Contractor’s License, allowing him to lead both residential and commercial projects. When you schedule an estimate with Reality Roofing, you’ll speak directly with David—someone who values education, transparency, and helping homeowners make confident, informed decisions about their roofing needs.
